How do we bring goodness into our lives?

How do we bring goodness and well-being into our lives? How do we have more happiness?

 God wants good and pleasing things for you. That is a promise in the Bible. *

 Go with the flow of God’s love. His love pours down on you constantly. ** You are constantly being drenched in love and well-being. But why is it that we often don’t feel like any goodness is reaching us?

 The more we focus on God and His love, the more we are tuned in to it. It is like listening to the radio. The radio waves are always there, but we can’t hear the music of the radio station unless we tune our radio in to the correct wavelength. When we are on God’s wavelength, we tune in to His love and goodness.

 So how do we tune in to God? We pray, worship Him, read the Bible, talk about Him with other people, meditate, sing praises, etc. We think about things we like or love, not things we don’t like. Thinking about things we don’t like almost always pulls us away from God and His joy.

 “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” ~Romans 12:2 NLT

 We can choose to go with the flow of God’s love or we can go with the flow of the world. When I was a teenager I went with some friends to a fast moving river. We sat in inner tubes and let the river push us down stream. There were beautiful trees and plants along the way. Birds were singing, the sun was shining and life was good.

 We were going with the flow of a powerful river. But it is even better to go with the flow of God’s love. He is all goodness and all powerful. There is no evil, selfishness or meanness in Him. Even when we sin He still loves us and dotes on us because He is our father in heaven.
