Karma (you reap what you sow)

Whether you believe in the eastern religions (karma), Jewish religion (Proverbs 11:17 Those who are kind benefit themselves, but the cruel bring ruin on themselves) Christianity (Galatians 6:7  A man reaps what he sows.) or no religion at all (the law of attraction-what you think about you bring about) there is evidence that you can control your life much more than most people realize. You have the power to make your life good or bad, happy or sad, successful or unsuccessful.  Many Christians believe in the law of attraction-it is basically the law of faith.

Karma says that if you are good and you do good things, good will come to you.

King Solomon said that the kind benefit themselves, if a person is kind and says and does kind things, good will flow toward him. If he does bad things, bad will flow toward him. Something as simple as saying “thank you,” the experts say, can bring about a blessing to you and to the one you said it to.

The problem with this is that no matter if someone sees you doing good or bad, the same will flow to you. If you steal something, whether or not anyone knows it, it will still bring some kind of bad to you, either that day or later. The bad may seem to have nothing to do with the bad deeds you did.

How do we know if we are bringing good into our life? We check our feelings. If we are feeling good, not angry, bitter, sad or fearful, we will bring good things into our life. But if we worry, hold a grudge against someone or think of the bad things in life, the things we don’t like, life will bring more of those things to us. Your feelings are the indication of what you are bringing to you.

Are you feeling bad? You can change your mood. Do something you like, think about things you like, don’t think about things you don’t like. Think about good, not bad and good will come to you.  Eastern religion tells us this, the Jewish religion does, Christianity does and the law of attraction does too.

Many people don’t believe this. But certainly Jesus said it is true, and he said it over and  over again throughout the first four books of the New Testament.
Matthew 7:8 says “Everyone who asks, receives,”
Matt 9:29 “According to your faith it will be done to you.
Matt 17:20 “If you have faith nothing will be impossible for you.”
Matt 21:22 “If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”
Matt 25 The person with no faith buried money and didn’t earn any, the people with faith doubled their money.

Complaining brings bad things into your life. Worry, gossip, whining and most anger also bring bad things into your life. Remember, check your emotions to see what you are bringing to yourself. The Amazing Power of Prayer

  1. Definitely, our feelings are a good indication of whether we are bringing positive or negative energy to us. In this way, negative feelings aren’t really bad, they’re actually useful! They’re like warning signs that you need to make a change to regain balance.

This is an excellent article that really makes sense…in a world gone senseless! Thank you, Brad!

    1. . It is just confusing to not see anyhitng after configuring amarok to search the right folders and waiting patiently for a hour or so for it to finish scanning. You know, if I had the time, I’d be throwing something together right now to do that but maybe not in amarok. Possibly adding collection management, media devices, lyrics support, and replaygain support to easytag. Or picking one of the collection managers out there and adding media tags and all the rest to it. But please don’t tell me to use nepomuk I don’t want to fill my netbook SDD with the database for a collection that is on a portable HD. And I want to be able to open that collection in all my netbooks, laptops, pcs, without having to rescan it every time.As a final clarification, I used amarok 1.4 firstly as a collection manager (and yes, to help me find more music that I might like based on what I had in my collection), and secondly as a music player, as you probably guessed by now. The second part might work well in 2.x, but I found that I now don’t listen to much music on my netbook any more. One of the reasons is that I stopped using amarok with 2.x, and never found another player that satisfied me as 1.4 did; but also because I already listened to a lot of music on my mp4 player, managing it with amarok 1.4 (and just copying dirs when I switched to kde 4.x /amarok 2.x), and I now almost exclusively use my android or my mp4 player, and at home I use my xbmc media centre. So, I really am out of your use cases by now. I do miss a lot amarok 1.4, and still haven’t found a decent music collection manager that will also play my tracks on my pc when I feel like it, so I still take the time to write about the bugs I can reproduce or what I still miss/dislike in 2.x.; but I am no longer a active user as I was in 1.4 times.

  3. Amen. I receive your message with my whole heart…thank you.

True enough. Thank you on behalf of Daylight Tune Ministry for liking the post “Seed & Fruit”. God bless.

  5. This is excellent! It’s nice to see someone write about paying close attention to the feeling world, instead of just focusing on governing the thoughts.

    1. Never seen a beettr post! ICOCBW

  6. I love this. And agree wholeheartedly. Whenever I come across a parking space in a super busy mall, I tell myself it’s karma. I did something good and it’s coming back to me and making me feel good both ways.

    1. I guess finidng useful, reliable information on the internet isn’t hopeless after all.

  7. I do believe that we reap what we sow…and thank you for the Matthew 21:22 reference…Pray with faith believing!

    1. Hey, you’re the goto expert. Thanks for hangnig out here.

  8. After surviving a semi truck smashing into my body while riding as a passenger and almost dying I can honestly say I am grateful for my relationship with Jesus Christ.

    Injuries:
Pelvis shattered three large screws surgically installed
    8 broken ribs
    lung collapsed
    kidney grade v tear
4 chest tubes to remove internal bleeding
    3 surgeries in two days
    2 years of physical therapy

The pain and suffering could easily break the human that does not have a relationship with GOD in Jesus Christ name. Miracles still happen today, I share the miracle of GOD’s mercy every chance I get. GOD in Jesus Christ precious name gave me and my family the miracle of life and healing. One day at a time I navigate the pain and suffering I have been left with.

Without faith I would have never ever been able to believe I would heal and walk again. The power of faith is amazing as GOD is still on the throne and still in control of this fallen world.

  9. I agree with Livvy on this. We know that God Himself chastises those whom He loves. “For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, And scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? It is for chastening that ye endure; God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is there whom [his] father chasteneth not? But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.” __ Hebrews 12:6-8. Positive attitudes throughout your sufferings is a proper attitude and goal. While suffering show joy and render comfort to others who are suffering. It is a great positive movement to show surrender to the will of God and abandonment to His Divine Providence. It will advance people further in their spirituality and draw them closer to their God. Obedience to His Divine Will is not lost on the Father, for His Son suffered the most gross ignominy of all and the Father’s Will was done. We too can enter into Christ’s sufferings as stated in Colossians 1:24 “Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up those things that are wanting of the sufferings of Christ, in my flesh, for his body, which is the church”

  10. Thanks for the like Brad. I do believe you have some control over your mental attitude which significantly alters your path in this life. I think there is argument and perhaps encouragement for many that the good things that are promised to us in the Bible often have to do with much trial and tribulation to perfect us in our faith. Bad things happen sometimes to very good people who only wish the best for those around them and themselves. It’s what we do with those bad things that is the key. 🙂

    1. I’m wondering, why not an .amarok/ fodelr in each fodelr of the collection, and inside that have an XML file with metadata for all of the music files in that fodelr?I’m thinking that the use case for storing on a remote server is that you want to store the metadata along with the music anyway..If the user moves files around >Store metadata based on a per-file UID so that it still applies when found in another fodelr. Move metadata to the correct place when discovered. If double metadata is found for a file >Store a per-file timestamp with the metadata and use whatever was most recently modified.Or is there a specific feature of MySQL databases that makes them better than XML files (indexing?)
